Plan The Perfect Winter Holiday Trip to Jackson Hole
Come to Jackson Hole for a festive and adventure-filled vacation.
Here are some of the top things to do in Jackson during the winter holidays.
1. Hit the Slopes
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort offers more than two thousand acres of world-class terrain for skiing and snowboarding and our complimentary ski shuttles will get you to and from the mountain with ease. Ride the iconic Aerial Tram to the top of Rendezvous Peak, or try one of the many intermediate or beginner trails too. There’s plenty of on-mountain dining and apres ski options, one of our favorite spots to grab a bite and drink is the Mangy Moose. If you are traveling with your family, then you may wish to spend a day at Snow King Resort enjoying the thrilling twists and turns of the Cowboy Mountain Coaster and going snowtubing. Snow King Resort is conveniently located right in downtown Jackson, close to the Town Square Inns properties.
2. Head to Town Square
Town Square is at the heart of downtown Jackson and offers delightful treats throughout the holiday season. From the annual tree lighting in November to visits with Santa and ice skating on the square, there are plenty of ongoing festive activities to enjoy. Don’t miss the chance to take a selfie under the famous elk antler arches. The arches are lit up beautifully at night during the holiday season and make for a gorgeous backdrop.
3. Get Cozy at Night
After exploring during the daytime, you’ll want to get cozy and warm indoors during the evenings. Town Square Inns four different properties offer comfortable amenities. Relax and unwind after a day of skiing or exploring with a soak in the hot tub and watch the snow fall outside. Or build a toasty fire in your private fireplace and enjoy s’mores or a glass of wine with your loved ones. We’ll make sure your stay is as cozy as can be.
4. Tour The National Elk Refuge
Visitors consistently say this is one of their favorite winter experiences in Jackson Hole. Tour the National Elk Refuge on a horse-drawn sleigh with a naturalist guide who will tell you all about these amazing creatures. As you glide through acres of protected habitat, you will see hundreds of elk up close. The elk refuge is a must-see in Jackson Hole! The tour will provide blankets to help you bundle up but remember to dress warmly.
5. Celebrate the New Year’s In Style
Jackson Hole knows how to ring in the New Year. Celebrate with a traditional torchlight parade, where skiers bear colorful lights process down the mountains to make a dazzling sight. Then follow up the parade with evening fireworks displays. Both Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Snow King Resort offer these local New Year’s traditions. The Town Square Inns are also conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Jackson’s many nightlife options, making it easy to find a place to see live music and share a midnight toast.
