1. Skiing & Snowboarding
Prepare for a day of thrills when you hit the snow on Jackson Hole’s premiere terrain. Whether you’re a pro or you’re just starting out, there’s a ski slope waiting for you to take it on. For beginners, Jackson Hole offers top-tier ski and snowboarding lessons for individuals and groups. Don’t feel like traveling with your equipment or just don’t own any? Don’t worry, Jackson Hole boasts local rental shops that are sure to have what you need in store.
2. Wildlife Tours & National Parks
Winter is a unique and inspiring time to visit both Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park near Jackson Hole. Yellowstone is only accessible by the use of a treaded snow coach or snowmobile during the wintertime. Once in the park, visitors can take a guided tour through the area to view the stunning winter landscapes, wildlife, and geological features in peaceful solitude without the summer months' crowds. Grand Teton National Park is a beautiful winter retreat for a quiet cross-country skiing or snowshoeing tour. You can also travel with a knowledgeable guide who will enrich your experience with information about the local environment and wildlife.
3. Family Fun & Adventure
Take the whole family out to the National Elk Refuge on a horse-drawn sleigh. As you glide over the beautiful landscape, you will see hundreds of elk up close and learn about the majestic animals from your guide. Dog sledding is another great family activity that will whisk you through the winter landscape and afford wildlife watching opportunities. You may even get to try your hand at mushing! Snow King Mountain, located right in Jackson, also offers snow tubing and the new Snow King Cowboy Coaster for a rip-roaring good time the family will love!
4. Winter Events
Please note, the Rendezvous Festival is canceled in 2021, and other events are subject to change. We recommend checking in with each event organization for the most up-to-date information.
Winter brings an abundance of seasonal events to Jackson Hole. If you're looking to get festive and celebrate the holidays, don't miss out on Santa on the Square. This free community event takes place right in Town Square, plus you'll get to meet Santa and his elves while sipping on some hot cocoa. New Year's Eve isn't overlooked in Jackson Hole either. There are plenty of events and celebrations around town each year, including various annual Torchlight Parades. 5. Shopping, Dining & Relaxation
All four Town Square Inns properties in downtown Jackson, WY, are in close proximity to a wide range of shopping, dining, and nightlife options. Walk the boardwalks around Town Square to grab a bite to eat or shop for the perfect souvenir. In the evening you’ll find live music at many local bars and venues too.
